• Children's Museum of Reading

The idea behind GiggleWorks at Palmer is to create an interactive, hands-on museum for all children aimed at stimulating growth through curiosity, problem solving and fun. A hundred years ago, Maria Montessori coined the phrase, “play is a child’s work” and the GiggleWorks foundation will be built upon this philosophy.

We don’t just have the figurative foundation established, we actually have a structural foundation with a 19,000 square foot building on top, located on West Reading’s Schuylkill riverfront. The building was magnanimously donated by R.M. Palmer Company, everyone’s favorite chocolatier. That building called us just the other day and said, “...the only thing that could be more fun than warehousing chocolate for a living would be helping to give kids a place to fertilize their little minds.”

Where else can a child visit the farmer’s market, dig for dinosaur bones, construct a building and learn how chocolate is made all in one day? Think of it as Willy Wonka’s factory that’s looking to diversify, but the kids won’t need a golden ticket to get inside.

    Help us bring the fun!
